CONCERT SCHEDULE:

Friday Night's Concert Series Hunt Valley Towne Centre

7/11/14 – Legend - What can be said, other than they are a Legend from the rock music scene of the 60’s and 70’s. They played consistently at every club of note in the Baltimore and surrounding areas, as well as opening for many, many National acts. We are pleased that the band reformed and are now a welcome addition to our concert line-up.

7/18/14 – Appaloosa - http://www.appaloosaband.net/
Appaloosa was formed in early 1971. The original vision was to play popular songs with good vocals and strong, instrumental backing; all the while, pleasing their audience and creating a party atmosphere wherever they go!

7/25/14 – Time Will Tell - Time Will Tell is an infectious band of seasoned musicians performing familiar songs by Classic Rock, Oldies, Pop, and British Invasion artists from the 1950′s to the 1990′s. Outstanding vocal harmonies are a highlight of the group, and the sharing of lead vocals provides tireless entertainment!

8/1/14 – Sons of Pirates – Audiences from all over the Mid Atlantic have been enjoying the hot summer sounds of Sons of Pirates. Sometimes billed as a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, http://sonsofpirates.webs.com/
SOP is much more, playing the beach music of Buffett, Marley, Zak Brown and splashing in classic hits from Eagles, James Taylor and BNL as well as many more. Every show is like a party at the beach!

8/8/14 – The Klassix -
The Klassix
The Klassix are known for pleasing crowds with their distinct renditions of popular, danceable, classic Top-40 music of all genres and generations. One of the regions premiere variety bands.

8/15/14 – Junkyard Saints - Junkyard Saints is a DC/Baltimore-based seven-piece band with full horn section, performing its own brand of New Orleans-style party music, blending funk, swing, Latin and R&B, with a splash of zydeco to round out the mix. Come party with this high energy band! http://www.junkyardsaints.com

8/22/14 – Sly 45 - Sly 45 is the mid-atlantic’s living tribute to the swagger, style, and freshness http://sly45.com/
Sly 45
of those early days when blues and jazz musicians were still figuring out what to call this new sound. From the blazing guitar licks, the come-to-daddy vocal stylings, and the dance-hall rhythms your feet never forget, a night out with Sly 45 is all rock and roll ever promised to be – a little bit more volume and a whole lot more fun.

8/29/14 – The Rat Pack - A band that is composed of three of the finest musicians and one of the strongest vocalists in the region, the Rat Pack can only be described as high energy entertainment. Playing professionally for so many years, this group has a playlist with something for everyone.

The Legend of Tír na nÓg and The Baltimore Experience

The Legend of Tir na Nog

In Irish mythology and folklore, Tír na nÓg  ("Land of the Young") or Tír na hÓige ("Land of Youth") is one of the names for the Otherworld.  It is depicted as a supernatural realm of everlasting youth, beauty, health, abundance and joy. Its inhabitants are the Tuath Dé, the gods of pre-Christian Ireland..

Oisin and Niamh

Tír na nÓg is best known from the tale of Oisín and Niamh..  In the tale, Oisín (a human hero) and Niamh (a woman of the Otherworld) fall in love. She brings him to Tír na nÓg on a magical horse that can travel over water. After spending what seems to be three years there, Oisín becomes homesick and wants to return to Ireland. Niamh reluctantly lets him return on the magical horse, but warns him never to touch the ground. When he returns, he finds that 300 years have passed in Ireland.  While coming to the aid of another during his journey, Oisín falls from the horse. He instantly becomes elderly, as the years catch up with him, and he quickly dies of old age.

"Welcomed I will be in a tongue I know,
love and hospitality will be offered me..."

Inspired by the Legend of  Tir na NÓg a restaurant concept was developed.  The idea was to provide a unique Irish experience incorporating the warmth of an Irish pub with New American cuisine and all the while maintaining the same charm and hospitality.

Tir Na NOG Irish Bar & Grill
Tir na NÓg  Irish Bar and Grill , Baltimore, Maryland re-created a small piece of Ireland in downtown Baltimore by salvaging interesting architectural pieces, furniture and bric-a-brac from churches and castles in Ireland. These pieces, combined with rich textiles, Celtic script adorning the walls, and rich, dark wood have shaped an elegant yet inviting atmosphere.

Residence Inn Baltimore Hunt Valley and Tir na NÓg Irish Bar and Grill have partnered to create an overnight package - The Baltimore Experience

Now they can't promise you'll never grow old or that time will stand still, but you are guaranteed to have one of the most unique Hotel and Restaurant experiences in Baltimore.

The Baltimore Experience includes:

  •  Overnight Suite Accommodations at Residence Inn Baltimore Hunt Valley
  •  $25 Gift Card to Tir Na Nog Irish Restaurant
  •  Two round trip Light Rail Tickets to downtown Baltimore, where you can explore the Inner Harbor,  National Aquarium, Camden Yards and more!
