Welcome to one of the most popular events at Horse World Expo, the Trail Champions Challenge. In the Challenge, riders and their horse compete for cash and prizes by negotiating an exciting course of obstacles while being timed and scored by a panel of judges. The professionally designed course will challenge the communication and trust riders have with their horse. Watch as Horse World Expo crowns the next Trail Champion!

Maryland's Most Wanted Thoroughbred - Cow Palace Arena NEW Format | |
Four of the most impressive Thoroughbred ex-racehorses in Maryland will appear with their riders before a panel of celebrity judges to compete for the title of Maryland's Most Wanted Thoroughbred. They will be judged on both the quality of their performances and the nature of the journeys that brought them from racing to where they are today. They will be competing for a cash prize of $500 and represent four different riding disciplines.
Steuart Pittman of Dodon Farm Training Center and RRP will lead special sessions all weekend exploring the various methods used by trainers to select and train Thoroughbred ex-racehorses for second careers. | |

Young Rider Learning Center - Exhibition Hall | |
Presented by Maryland Region Pony Club, this series of programs will be designed to help our youth horse lovers become riders or advance their horsemanship and horse care skills. Programs have been specially designed to offer information for those new to the horse world as well as those looking to advance through the Pony Club ranks. Friday programs will focus on horse healthcare and is appropriate for all ages from the youth rider to the seasoned adult. These programs will include helpful skill building like wound care, bandaging and even how to put together an equine first aid kit. Saturday programs are horse management seminars targeted for Pony Club leaders as well as active Pony Club members however, these seminars are open to all and those who have not found Pony Club are encouraged to attend. These programs include topics on horse management skills and achieving success in Pony Club programs. Sunday's programs are beginner-friendly topics designed to help new horse lovers understand the basics of horse care. These programs will help those looking to learn more about basic horse care as well as those wanting to know how to get involved with horses. | |
Parade of Breeds - Cow Palace Arena | |
Exciting and educational demonstrations highlighting the versatility and beauty of the equine. The demonstration will feature various breeds to be shown throughout the weekend. See the Breed Demo Schedule so you can be sure to catch your favorite breeds in action.
